I recently interviewed Anand and Kanisk from PushCrew.com the creators of a great new plugin for WordPress that allows you to send push notifications from your website to your subscribers. This plugin will allow you to do some marketing from your site as well as notifying them of new updates or breaking news.
The plugin is an SASS that connects your website to pushcrew to allow people to start allowing notification from your website. they get the request when they visit your website and if they accept then whenever you send out a notification they will get it on all their devices.
There are many uses for this such as reminding people to recover abandoned shopping carts and they are currently in the process of building integration's to automate the process.
I have reviewed the plugin as below and the full review will appear in an upcoming show.

The Lowdown:
When linking to create account should open in a new window. Should make the account ID more prominent in the account pages. Its pretty nice to get set up and send out push notifications currently only to chrome, safari and mobile. This will get a large percentage of your visitors. I can see this as very useful if you have visitors who are on your site for a while and you see theme there and you want to grab their attention with a simple notification. Use it to create specials and more.
It does have another nice advantage in that you get an email telling you what you have sent out and some stats on the link clicks.
