As we are 17 weeks into 2020 and 5 weeks into the isolation/lockdown game, how are you handling the lockdown. Are you in a city country that has a total lockdown or do you have some freedom to get out and breath some fresh air? let me know in the comments how your faring are you unemployed or getting more work than ever like many out there. These are strange times indeed.

It does however look like our masters are going to start letting us back into the world again. As the US starts to open and they ven opend the Golf Courses here in BC we may be getting started again but it will be a rough road.

Relax folks take a breath, go for a walk, build a garden and realize that while our world is now changed forever we will get though it. Save your sanity and your Amygdala and find out why your not gonna die by listening to the No Agenda Show

I have some news from the world of WordPress for you today as well as some great plugins.

Let get to the fun we have today.

WordPress News and Info

Before we jump into the news a couple observations about WordPress.

A problem I have noticed with WordPress is that they are making many changes for the simple reason of making changes and advances. they don't always seem to provide any great advances but often cause issues such as a new learning curve, new screens such as the latest full screen editor you have to figure out how to turn off.

It seems they are moving so far ahead that they are loosing people. The issue here is that I am running into more and more websites that cannot be updated to the latest version simply because they have incompatible plugins or other issues. and have to block the updates to prevent issues.

I know we are in a world of fast change but they will need to start slowing down the carnage and simply work on security and let people catch up to what they have if they want to keep their user base. If they don't I believe that WordPress will start shedding users in the same was other platforms of the pas have.

This I think is a reason that ClassicPress will catch up to them pretty fast in its user base. Especially if they stay focused on ease of use, speed and security.

ClassicPress Options

ClassicPress is a fast growing fork of WordPress that is starting to come into its own. ClassicPress is focused on Business Websites runs fast and is looking pretty good. There are a few plugins specifically for ClassicPress and all plugins for WordPress 4.9.9 work well on it. I do believe it has a future.

One thing I am looking forward to in the ClassicPress World is the expansion of the number of ClassicPress specific plugins and their own repository. Currently there are not a lot of ClassicPress specific plugins but I do know it is going to grow and I'll have to expand this segment then. Who knows, it could take over the whole show.

The Lowdown:

This plugin provides a way to query Parliament’s database and return a profile of an MP in the House of Commons, using a shortcode. All you need is their constituency name, and the magic is done for you! Possible usage for this includes:

Campaigning for an issue and offering a way for readers to contact your local MP
Providing basic information on an MP relevant to your content or news story
Raising awareness about who to consult with regarding local issues

This plugin relies on the data offered by the third party service of UK Parliament Data to return the information and portrait in the profile based on a constituency. This data is licensed under the Open Parliament Licence – there are no additional Privacy Policies from UK Parliament Data relating to this plugin.

Pop up Trigger URL for Elementor
