The Lowdown;

This is my number one plugin to install everything I setup a new WordPress website, right after I remove the default installed plugins of Akismet and Hello Dolly. The reason is of course no matter how new your domain, website or even if you get the site hidden down a directory or two the spammers will find you. This I still experiment with from time to time to see how long it takes from setting up a WordPress website to how long it take for the first spam comment to arrive. My record for that first arrival is 3 minutes.

Why this plugin over akismet well for starters it really is free, then you do not have to hook it to a third party service for it to work. Plus it seems to take less of a load to run on your site and finally it does a better job of keeping out the Spam than every other anti-spam plugin I have ever used.

Premium Plugin starting at $39

It is pretty much a giving that every website will need a contact for and maybe even other types of forms for the finished site. Yes, there are a couple of pretty good free form plugins such as Contact forms 7 and ninja forms and while the form plugins can work pretty well none have as much extensibility as Gravity forms. You can work Gravity forms into your WooCommerce site, you can use it for specialized site registration forms and more. There are dozens of add-ons for gravity forms to extend its abilities. The Lowdown:

While at first you might wonder if a plugin that has not been updated in  4+ years is still any good I will say that it is and I continue to use it on site after site especially if I have to add content to that new site or on an ongoing basis. The reason is that this plugin allows for you to start uploading images or other larger files and continue to do your content edits. You do not have to open the add media window and then sit and wait until your media uploads. It adds a new box below your content box to upload the files and add the meta data to them as well as allow you to access the media library to add files previously uploaded to your content. You can even get the faster image insert to show up for all your custom post types to make life easier with them. I continue to use the plugin on site after site running latest version of WordPress with no issues. It is a great plugin.

WP LinkedIn Auto Publish lets you publish posts automatically from WordPress to your personal LinkedIn profile or to a LinkedIn company page that you are an administrator of.

The plugin is simple, lightweight and free. It does have a couple of options which includes choosing who you want to share your LinkedIn posts with and whether you want to enable simple text-based sharing or more advanced sharing where you can tell LinkedIn to use your posts feature image. You can also setup a default share message format for all your posts which you can over-ride on the post settings. You can also filter items to be published based on categories selected on the plugin settings page.

Every post will automatically be published to LinkedIn, however on each post there is a checkbox which enables you to not share a particular post.

Simple Admin Columns is very easy to use WordPress plugin. It helps you to create custom columns on the admin screens for posts and pages.

You can create a Modified Date sortable column and Post Thumbnail column for posts and pages in WordPress admin area by using a friendly interface.

Auto Delete User plugin will delete your users automaticly according to the user roles and days you will set in the plugin settings. E.g If you have set the subcriber user role to get auto delete after 4 days then this plugin will wipe out all the subscriber users. You can set the settings in the Users -> Auto Delete User .

Warning: We highly recommend that you use this plugin on your Dev server first and please take a fullback up of your site before installing
