John's Intro:
The count down to Episode 500 is here only 2 more episodes to go. Just a reminder we are now in the 46th week of 2 weeks to flatten the curve from the Rona. The greatest Scam perpetrated on the entire world at once. We are now in the new Biden Era, The entertainment is never ending now, after all if one mask good then three is better..
With great appreciation for the No Agenda Show for their inspiration of ideas and the occasional stolen sound clip.
This is a value for value show and I look forward to everyone providing some value back.
Before I get started, you will want to hang around to the end of the show for our Q & A segment with Amber…. and to those listening on the podcast, you may want to check out the YouTube version which has some great discussions before the show starts…

Ambers Rant:
This is #5 of 52 episodes for 2021. Its Episode 497, and we are getting close to planting time! Unless of course you listen to the Groundhog – in which case we have 6 more weeks of winter. We COULD of course always start our seedlings inside… Maybe those little seedlings would be happy with a zone out space all their own beneath a grow light!
Perhaps we could add them to our own zone our spaces – which can be anywhere! A blanket thrown over your couch to build a fort, in your bed with your door closed and a ‘Do Not Disturb' sign or a sock on your door, or even your car! Get into a space all your own, throw on some music and grab a book, or even throw on an audio book and grab a drink! Kick back, and breathe. Try to get there at least once a week, more if you can. Especially more if you now have seedlings to water!
If you have kids, let them know that they should only bother you if they are broken, dying, or bleeding for 1 WHOLE hour. Make your area comfy for you, be sure to water your seedlings, and try to remove all internet AND radio with news hours while zoning out. Try to let go of everything outside of your control, and work on pestering those you know and care about to get their own Zone Out Space's started.
Rinse and repeat as often as needed.
We have some news from the world of WordPress for you today as well as some great plugins.

ClassicPress Options
ClassicPress is a fast growing fork of WordPress that is starting to come into its own. ClassicPress is focused on Business Websites, runs fast and is looking pretty good. There are a few plugins specifically for ClassicPress and all plugins for WordPress 4.9.9 work well on it. I do believe it has a future.
One thing I am looking forward to in the ClassicPress World is the expansion of the number of ClassicPress specific plugins and their own repository. Currently there are not a lot of ClassicPress specific plugins but I do know it is going to grow and I'll have to expand this segment then. Who knows, it could take over the whole show.
This week for ClassicPress I have:

Smart Admin Search
https://wordpress.org/plugins/smart-admin-search/
The Lowdown:
Here is a plugin with some promise. Currently it only lets you search for menu items but it has a promise of more search items to come. Something you may want to check out. It can be pretty useful if you're using lots of plugins with lots of menu items though.

Contact Form, Drag and Drop Form Builder for WordPress – Everest Forms
https://wordpress.org/plugins/everest-forms/
Description
Searching for a form plugin for a client; I found a couple of plugins I wanted to share.
Everest Forms plugin is quite simple and easy to use, though it has no colour scheme control, and little personalization control in general.
Once downloaded and activated, you go into the ‘add new' under ‘everest forms' on your left hand column, and do a simple drag and drop from the list provided to create your form.
There aren't many options in the free version, though if you are just looking for a quick and easy contact form, this will work well for you!
You don't get to choose any sort of style or colours or anything, though you do get to have the ‘captcha' in the free version. Once done, you just add the shortcode into your page or post, and you have your form. It's a basic design, very classic 90's style; white and gray with the old school block submit button.
I think this is a decent beginners contact form, though if you are wanting any real control over the way it looks, then this would not be a great option for you.

Re-Review of Yoast Duplicate Post
https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicate-post/
Well I needed to re-evaluate this plugin due to a comment on the last show from the author.
Author: Enrico Battocchi
Hi John,
My congratulations for the show! I'm the original creator of Duplicate Post and now one of its developers at Yoast.
I'm glad that you like the new cool feature that we added, but I'm sorry you chose to highlight two reviews that state wrong facts (one of the reviewers has also later acknowledged that) without any mention of our answers.
Let's put aside the complain for a bug which unfortunately hasn't been reported as such in the proper way (other people experienced a bug with 4.1 and with their help we were able to patch it in a few hours) and let's focus to the infamous upgrade notice.
So please let me state that:
– the notice is displayed to admins only, so regular users are not affected.
– it used to be displayed on every admin page at every new version: now, as you already know since you used the plugin, it's displayed only in the Dashboard and the Plugins page and only for major updates. This means that a user upgrading through the last versions (the Yoast ones) it would have been shown just 3 times on two pages instead of the 7 times everywhere as it happened before. I think it's an improvement.
– it used to be a *nag* asking for donations when it was my pet project while I was a freelancer, while now it's just there to let people know about the *huge* improvements and remind that they can sign up to the free Yoast newsletter to stay updated. This hardly qualifies as an ad in my view, while some users go so far that even the new logo, which legitimately shows the Yoast brand, is seen as advertisement. I suppose they are researching for an ad-block plugin for their glasses so while they walk on the streets they don't see such ads as the Lacoste crocodile on other people's shirt, or the Toyota logo on cars…
– we know that the notice is not the best choice, that's why we are phasing it out. But we can't do it without replacing it with another way to make sure people can find their way along the big changes that the plugin has been having since it has joined Yoast. So while some people may legitimately find the notice annoying (but not to the extent of saying that it got worse while actually it has hugely reduced its impact, and let me say that someone just overreacts to the Yoast name), there are much more people among the millions using the plugin that use that notice to avoid the need of seeking help from support.
I originally introduced the notice because I was flooded by emails from users who weren't even aware that the Settings page was there. The upgrade notice, while at the time was really naggy and shamefully begging for money, empowered those users to solve their problems just by providing a source of information, whether it was just a reminder to check the current settings or a link to a guide. Now it's displayed a fraction of the times it used to, it doesn't ask for money at all, but at the moment has the unavoidable purpose to help people discover how a completely new feature works.
I'm sorry for the long message but I think that letting just two reviews with some untrue statements speak about the plugin is not right not just for me (I'm getting used to it, while it's still saddening) but for all the people who are working on making it a better piece of software than it was.
My best regards,
keep up the good work!
The Lowdown:
Ok. Well, when I am called out and am in the wrong I will admit it. Maybe I was a bit harsh last week on the plugin based on some other reviews. I went ahead and dug deeper into the plugin and worked with it for a bit on a site I am doing development on.
It turns out, it is not so bad after all and the reminder messages are not annoying or in the 4 hours I was working on the project they never actually popped up so it is not as bad as those reviews suggested.
The functionality worked well and does its job well for duplication and the new rewrite and republish function which is pretty cool if you are just updating content on a site.
I will have to reevaluate this plugin and jump it up to.

Contact Form Plugin – WP Fluent Forms – Fastest Contact Form Builder Plugin for WordPress
https://wordpress.org/plugins/fluentform/
Description
This is a surprisingly great contact form! A little limited by the need to upgrade to pro to get all of the options, though I do like the options they give you right off the bat!
Once downloaded and activated, you go into ‘add new' under ‘fluent forms' on the left hand column.
This one is another drag and drop. You get most of the options available in the free version. You can change up the name of the options on the form, where the name sits against the entry area, the size of the entry areas, and also the colour of the submit button.
This form looks quite nice on your page, and you can add it either via shortcode, or through one of the ‘fluent' widgets. In the widget, you just upload the form you created.
It looks like a mixture of new age and 90's; this is really quite a good one if you are looking for a form that is both simple and has some decent customizing options.

Dokan – Best WooCommerce Multivendor Marketplace Solution – Build Your Own Amazon, eBay, Etsy
https://wordpress.org/plugins/dokan-lite/
The lowdown:
This is an interesting plugin that could help you build out a marketplace for your community. It helps you build out a multi vendor marketplace for members of your community to sell products off your website.
Users get a front end store manager to create and manage their own store and if you go premium or add some add-ons you can expand the store to auctions or bookable. You can earn commissions of store sales and more.

CP Blocks
https://wordpress.org/plugins/cp-blocks/
Description
If you use Calculated Fields Form Plugin, or Contact Form 7 Plugin, then this is the perfect addition for you!
The free version offers 34 varieties of new onclick buttons to your forms! The design of these buttons are quite nice, and very useful if you are looking for a particular style.
Once you have this up and going, you simply need to click on the ‘add blocks' button, and up pop the options!
This reminds me of when you are making a menu in WordPress in the way it's set up, and the options available are pretty decent!
If you are in need of a more personalized button, I recommend you go and check this one out.
