The Lowdown:
Do you use Advanced Custom Fields plugin and Yoast? Then you should add this plugin to your site. It helps ensure that all your AFC content is included in SEO analysis. In this way if you are using the Yoast plugin to help with your SEO you can get a more complete picture buy including the AFC info also.

Display All Image Sizes

https://wordpress.org/plugins/display-all-image-sizes/

Version:1.1.6

Compatible up to:4.7.29
Released:29 May 2015

Last Updated:04 May 2017
Ratings:

(5 star out of 5)

The Lowdown:
One of the more interesting things about WordPress themes is how many images they make from the master you upload and with a little extra code you can have even more images. Dealing with this has often been a challenge especially for my clients. You want to know the size of all the images used in a theme so you can ensure you always upload the correct image where ever you plan for it to be used. This plugin displays all the sizes available in the media library.

AJAX Thumbnail Rebuild

https://wordpress.org/plugins/ajax-thumbnail-rebuild/

Version:1.14
Requires:2.8 or higher
Compatible up to:6.2.6
Released:12 October 2009
Downloads:823197
Last Updated:03 May 2023
Ratings:
4.8
(4.8 star out of 5)

The Lowdown:
This is an oldie but a goodie, I know I may have covered this in the past but it is good to bring back plugins from time to time to remind people they exist. Ajax Thumbnail rebuild is a staple whenever you are doing a theme upgrade, for as you may know replacing a theme does not automatically create the new thumbnails you will need for its layout. While there are many plugins to accomplish this task and I have used a few of them over the years, this one creates the least amount of load on the server while accomplishing the task. There are now some 3rd party of server plugins to do this but I always like to keep as much of my data under control as possible.

This is a very simple and easy plugin to use and once done you can simply remove it.

WP Hide Post

https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-hide-post/

Version:
Requires: or higher
Compatible up to:
Released:01 January 1970
Downloads:
Last Updated:01 January 1970
Ratings:
0
(0 star out of 5)

The Lowdown:
There will be times when you will need to hide a post on your website, hide it from the archive pages and from the front pages etc. The uses of this are many you may be creating a landing page, a special page for a client to view or just want to hide some content. With a few check boxes you can hide this from everything but your automatically generated sitemap file but there ways to hide there also. They do have a pro-version available for $3 which unlocks a few extra things.

This plugin allows you to control the visibility of a post in various different views:

  • The Front Page (Homepage, depending on your theme, this may not be relevant)
  • The Category Page (listing the posts belonging to a category)
  • The Tag Page (listing the posts tagged with a given tag)
  • The Authors Page (listing the posts belonging to an author)
  • The Archive Pages (listing the posts belonging to time period: month, week, day, etc..)
  • The Search Results
  • Feeds
